More Updates - Front Suspension Rebuild

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the front suspension. I've taken it all apart, and it's coming along well. I was happy to find the control arms/torsion bars were all in good shape and not damaged in any way. I just ordered a Rubber bushing kit from Performance Suspension Technology, (http://www.p-s-t.com) and will be installing it soon. I would be working on it today but of course it's raining out.

I still need to sandblast all the parts but I don't have a sandblaster So I'm going to be renting one soon. Not entirely sure when though. I bought a bushing removal kit from Princess Auto and it says it can install them but I doubt it'll work good. Luckily I know a shop in town that I can get them installed for a good price.

I also am going to be ordering these shocks for the front: Edelbrock IAS.

After all of this I am going to paint all the parts and get them ready for installation, then I am going to remove the engine and drivetrain, order a front disc brake kit, I'm just getting the Ebay Kit. I've read that it works pretty well and I'm on somewhat of a tight budget here :P

Then I reinstall all the parts, strip the underside, reundercoat it and do the back suspension. I hope to have most of this done before Halloween. Here are the latest pics.

More Progress

Here's more progress. Took off both the fenders (awhile ago just haven't updated)
removed the front wheels, and took off all the components to the engine, except the rad just because I didn't have anything to dump the anti-freeze in. Tomorrow I will though.

This week the engine is coming out!

First Post

Hey all, I've decided to do a blog that follows the progress on my 74 Dodge Charger.
I bought it in early December 07, and haven't really worked on it a whole bunch until lately and within the recent few weeks I've made quite a bit of progress.

Here's what it looked like when I bought it.

And as of yesterday this is what it looked like.

The work I've done so far:

Removed all chrome trim, including front and rear bumpers.
Removed all of the interior including column, dash, seats etc.

The engine in the car is a 360 2bbl. For now, I'll be keeping the same block but heavily modifying it and and aiming for around 400-430hp and 400-450 ft lb of torque.

It was origianlly a brown on tan car but I'm changing it to black on black, which isn't a huge ordeal and I only need very few interior parts, such as sun visors, headliner, new dashpad and carpet. The rest can be dyed/painted or re-covered.

I'm not really counting how much I'm going to put into it because frankly I just don't know to know lol. I'm actually working on it right now just taking a break, and waiting for some help to remove the hood and fenders. This week I'll be removing the engine as well.

Well that's all for day, I hope you continue to follow the progress.
